INTRODUCTION TO LAMPWORKING USING BOROSILICATE GLASS ON A TORCH WITH ANDREW POLLACK

This class is in Lousiana in "Norlins" but it sounds like a great opportunity. More California class links later on.

Borosilicate lampworking class--5 SESSION CLASS – Tuesday nights starting Feb. 9th at the New Orleans Creative Glass Institute (NOCGI)

Here's what Andrew Pollock's FB site says about this class:
"Working on the torch, students will start with small borosilicate sculpture, trying their hand at making small animals, marbles and such. We will move on to some larger, focal beads, like pendant and medallions, to explore encasement and magnification with the glass. By the end of the class, students should feel comfortable with basic borosilicate techniques and may have a chance to try blowing a small hollow form on the torch. Depending on the class, Andrew will also demonstrate making strong fuses by assembling blown forms into goblets and larger sculptural techniques. Through demonstrations and hands-on practice, you will be exposed to the variety of techniques that torch-worked glass has to offer. The cost of this class is $300.00."

Here at Nourot Studio we don't give classes but do encourage visits and hanging around giving advice, really, so come on by. The year begins on Tuesday with the first melt. Get out the Jesus picture, Micheal. Have to have that hot red glass soon...
