Dangers of Email Marketing

You hear so much about ID theft these days. Today we've discovered another kind of ID issue: split email personality.

The original web email our business had was through the server that held our company site. For the last three years we have been using the gmail "system", "cloud" or whatever it is.

It seems that the old email address is coming back to haunt us. Mail to this old address was not forwarded; important mail. The settings were wrong! Sounds dire. So a little hunting was necessary to find the important mail.

In this new economy it's not unusual all of a sudden to have someone you thought you knew how to contact fall off your radar. Businesses fail, people move on, retire and what have you. Maybe we have been lax in reading our discarded email addresses, but today while looking through the settings we had for an old business email I have found a few important people whose emails have definitely fallen through the cracks.

Hi Everybody, it's now well into August and we thought it'd be good to mention here that this is our 37th year in business in Benicia. Hope you can stop by soon. This week and next we are BLOWING glass. We are really excited to be able to do so, because, we CAN afford it thanks to our great collectors and supporters who have made a purchase these past two months.
The galleries who sell our Nourot Glass are reviving and planning on adding new pieces of ours in places like Aspen, Colorado (Pismo Glass) and Annapolis, Maryland (Applachian Spring). We are blowing pieces for these two place this week, Also working on a few corporate jobs. More on that later.
Next Tuesday we will be featured on Eye on the Bay KPIX TV CBS 5 when their crew comes to film. Their host Brian Hackney wants to take a lesson. Should be fun.

Weekend Number One

We are thankful for all the visitors and helpers that participated in our first Holiday Weekend.
There was allot of activity in the blow shop and in the gallery. Thoren Hanks made  glass with both Nick and Micheal.
One of the big torchieres sold, the one with the three Cezanne shades.
We have many ornaments still left and the red glass we made in the last two days is being signed and put out.  A new order of bead jewelry by Marco Polo has arrived.  There are many little sparkly pendants in silver, white and gold.
The Nourot Studio Gallery will be open every day until 12/31 with the exception of the 25th!
Thanks to Leslie Hall for gathering menus and flyers of downtown's restaurants and attractions.  Our visitors now have a great selection of places to go and see after they visit us in the glass gallery.

Spring Sale in one week

Save 30% on every Nourot made piece in the gallery starting April 29; 30 and May 1; 2. Nourot Glass Studio's annual Spring Open House and Sale coincides with Arts Benicia Open Studios, too: May 1 and 2.

New in the gallery this time will be the work of Craig and Anny Zweifel. They are the guest artists this year. As well as demonstrating goblet making, they will be here showing their glass works (pictured).

Demonstrations of glass making will be as long as the glass lasts for the four day show. You can see up close how works of beauty in hand blown glass take form right before your eyes. Get as close as you dare to the 2,000 degree "glory holes" and watch the expert crafts people at the Nourot Studio make goblets, vases, paperweights and other items out of their signature red glass.

Hours are 10Am to 5PM April 29; 30 and May 1; 2. Location is: 675 East H Street in old town Benicia, California. Take the 5th street exit off Freeway 780 or turn East off First Street (six blocks away) and follow H to the end.

Smyers Glass is located in the same building as Nourot and will be showing their style glass items during the Spring Open House.

The Gallery this Weekend

Hurray! Many cool people came out last weekend to see the "Summer Breezes" show at Nourot Gallery. Thank you Benicia Herald for the article you did. Here are a few images of how the show "hangs". Paintings by seven women artists all on a summer theme: landscapes, giclee prints, hand cast paper encaustic works.

The Nourot Glass Gallery has a wonderful waterfront location along the Carquinez Strait; just six blocks from First Street shops and restaurants.

Benicia has many parks and waterfront trails where you can take in the cool breezes that whoosh down the straits. Come visit.
