Charles Savoie at Art Fest in Naples this Weekend

Contemporary American Craftspeople will converge on Naples, Florida this weekend for the annual Art Fest.
Our good friend Charles Savoie, whose works can also be seen in the Nourot Gallery in Benicia, will be in attendance.
Craftspeople traditionally head to Florida for the winter circuit.  The Naples show is one that has held it's strength during the recession. This weekend you will see works in glass, work, metal and ceramics, as well as wearables and mixed media art works.
“The Art Fest is a major fundraiser for us each year and we greatly appreciate the community’s support,” said Eden Executive Director Susan Suarez in the release. “Many of our staff members and parents, along with other community members, work as volunteers at the event. We’re able to raise needed funds to support developmental and educational programs for our students with autism.”
Additions this year include a booth featuring art for sale by the students of Eden’s Schools as well as a coloring contest for local children. (See side story.) The fest will also feature an “Art for Autism” silent auction made possible through donations from the show’s artists to directly benefit Eden Autism Services’ programs.

Create a Custom Piece of Blown Glass

Web savvy people and those who've collected Nourot glass are beginning to call the studio regularly with ideas for custom work.  It really not too hard to get the piece you are dreaming of made especially for your home.

Most often we are asked for Kitchen Pendants like for Maria McCullough's home.  See her site that features our Scarlet Nova pendant lights here: http://www.fengshuibymaria.com.

Others come up with their own unique requests. Recent requests vary from a large flute to fill a fireplace niche ( in Idaho) or a stone wall that is eight feet wide that requires a custom installation of art glass (in Danville, California). We work together to find a solution. Pictures are exchanged. Glass color and patterns in glass at Nourot are discussed and after we come to a mutual decision, the piece is blown.

Here are some recent solutions. Send us your site pictures and we'll make a free standing piece of blown glass or a custom work of wall art in blown glass for you. A unique piece of blown glass by Nourot is the perfect gift for a special anniversary, birthday or life event. Let the artisans of Nourot Studio make unique vivid colored blown glass art for your home or office.  Architectural inquiries are also welcomed.

Contact: 707-745-1463 or email: nourotglass@gmail.com. Nourot Studio Gallery has many fine examples and is currently open Monday through Saturday 10AM--5PM at 675 East H Street, Benicia, California.
