Peddler's Day Fair this Saturday in Benicia

Dawn tomorrow is Benicia's Annual St. Paul's Episcopal Church Peddler's Fair. This huge flea market and antique fair is not to be missed. You can browse among such oddities as antique jewelry and dishes to furniture and war memorabilia. Books, toys and food can be found at the Peddler's Fair, too. The "Playground of Dreams" is nearby at the corner of First and Military; across from Safeway.

Just off First Street is the renowned Nourot Glass Gallery where "Summer Breezes" art show is going on now. Paintings by six women artists are included. Blown glass is featured in the Nourot (new-row) Gallery since 1974 at 675 East H Street. Just turn right off First Street going EAST down H to find the glass works.

August 2009 marks Nourot Glass' 35th year in business. Seek out the 'vault" with glass pieces from over a 35 year period. Many of the glass is now 20% off for the anniversary sale.

Parking in front won't be a problem. You can even walk to the Fair from 675 East H Street. To avoid crowds take the 2nd street exit off 680 north of the bridge; exit onto East 2nd; follow to Military East and take 5th to H Street to score a good parking space tomorrow.
