Nourot Glass in Benicia is hosting a Holiday Open Studio and Sale. All Nourot glass pieces will be 20% off during the event days. Covered in the November 22nd SF Chronicle, the world famous Nourot Studio is known for its brilliant red glass. Always a fascinating craft to watch up close; the artisans at Nourot will demonstrate glass blowing during the event.

Glass making for the Open Studio runs Thursday through Sunday December 4, 5, 6, 7, and continues the next weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday December 12, 13 and 14. Hours are 10AM to 5PM at 675 East H Street, along the historic waterfront in Benicia,just 6 1/2 blocks from First Street.

This year the glass makers of Nourot will be open late Friday evening for "Fridays on First" from 6PM--9PM. Benicia is a Main Street City and has many events to promote tourism along the old waterfront downtown area.

Nourot has been awarded many notable commissions such as ones for former President Clinton, the Pope, Hewlett Packard, Lockheed, the United States Navy and US Airforce. Within the studio's "vault" are examples of these and other unique works on display.
Christmas and holiday offerings will include tree ornaments, jewelry, fountains, vessels, platters and lighting. Small paperweights, pocket sculpture and night lights are also on sale. Prices of glass range from $3 to $3,000.

Artisans in America market their works through the American Craft Council in New York and the Buyers Market Wholesale Shows based in Baltimore, Maryland. Nourot Studio has been involved in selling to the American craft art market since 1979. Nourot's studio has been based in Benicia since 1974. Micheal Nourot and Ann Corcoran, with their son Nicholas invite you to come discover the world of fine American Contemporary glass making at this annual Open Studio.

Directions: take Freeway 680 or 80 to Freeway 780 that runs through Benicia; exit East 5th Street; follow towards water. At East 5th and "H" Street turn left and go 1 1/2 blocks. Nourot Glass Studio is on your left at 675 East H Street. More information: 707-745-1463.
